TEAMSPEAK and menu scrolling?

Postby shockwave203 » Thu Feb 19, 2004 6:48 pm

I have dual monitors, so while playing BF I have one monitor displaying the TS window so I can see who's talking. When someone joins another TS channel, the window will scroll down to it, and i'll have to alt tab out of BF and move the window back up to the BF channel.

Is there a way to lock that damn menu so it won't scroll when someone joins a channel?

This has been asked here before and the reply from the TS developers was it was inherent to the application and could not be prevented w/o a rewrite. :(

I hope they change that or add the ability to lock it in the next release. I think they said they would?

Strange, the other day I opened TS and signed on to ECGN, and somehow it was setup to only view the channel that I was in. Other channels were viewable, and I could switch to them, but unless I joined a channel, I couldn't see who was in that channel.

Was this a server-side change? I opened TS today, and it looks normal again. I hadn't changed any of my settings, and this happened for 2 days in a row.

I kind of liked it this way, granted, you couldn't see who was on a channel unless you joined, but it eliminated the scrolling issue.

I've been writing a work-around for this that's not quite ready for anyone else to see yet. It's basically a "hook" program that sits in the background and issues WM_MOUSEDOWN messages to the TS client window via the Windows Messaging APIs. The problem is it looks like the TS guys wrote custom WM handling routines in order to enable hot keys - every so often it eats the messages I send . . . can't figure out why . . .

It's also currently written in .NET, which isn't useful to everyone . . .

Yeah I had the same experience with viewing only the people in the channel I was on.

I wonder why it was changed and why it was changed back?
