The Geforce 4 ti4800, up to DX8, is quite a fast card, until you turn on AA. The 9600XT is quite a fast card, but unlike the GF4, it's frame rates don't drop so low when some AA is turned on.
it's still too overpriced though, because it's not a DX9 card, like the 9600XT

The 9600 XT (which is part of the XT line of cards, not the pro/nonpro cards) is AGP.
and by the way, what the heck is >.< ?
*edit* just thought I'd throw this in here, if you are switching from Nvidia to ATI, or from ATI to Nvidia, you'll most likely need to reformat your hardrive. performance isn't as good as it should be until the system is formatted, for some reason.

@_@ is like phsycotich or somethin. lol
I wasn't talking about the line, but is the card itself AGP or AGP-pro? My mobo supports 4x-8x AGP pro and 4x-8x AGP. AGP-pro has more pins so it's faster (duh). just wondering if it's pro or not
AGP Pro is slower.
Just get The 9600XT - it will last you for a while.

AGP pro only has extra pins because it provides all the power through the AGP slot, as opposed to using the power supply.
it has no benefit

Yeah, all expansion slots provide power through the slot. o_O never seen a video card with a molex adapter anyways. Unless they suddenly needed 15voltsOriginally posted by shockwave203

I think it was just designed to free the card from having to connect to the PSU. I'm not sure though, I don't know much about AGP-pro

well, like Evan said, AGP-Pro is slower, and the fact that I haven't heard of a single 'agp pro card' pretty much tells me that it's not something to worry about. AGP is the way to go
