That's strange. Here, if you buy stolen goods, knowingly or not, the police seizes it and returns it to the victim. YOU have to sue the thief.

That sounds completely logical to me.
It's not her fault she got robbed and it IS the store's own fault that they bought stolen goods.
Those items never belonged to thief so EB had no right to purchase them.
Seems like Canada has this one figured out.

Yeah, it's the same way here in Massachusetts. It's the 'receiving stolen property' law. Vendors are responsible for returning any stolen property that they receive, and it's their responsibility to recoup their money from the thief. It's also state law that you have to be over 18 and have a picture ID to sell anything at all to "used" stores.

I've had good experiences at EB and will continue to shop there. My local EB has taken back MMORPG's such as Star Wars and Shadowbane... even though it is against their policy.
Just last week I tried to return a PS2 game I bought at Christmas for my kids to SEARS. Sears would have exchanged it (also against their policy), but they did not have the game instock. While I was at the mall I wandered down to EB. I was looking at the games making small talk with the guy working there. I mentioned my situatiion and without my asking, he said he would swap out a good (used) copy of the game for my damageed copy... No charge!! Wow!
Nice guy... I'm not saying that EB has been good every time. I'm saying that EB has been good to me on a number of occassions and I will continue to shop there.

I like EB too. I got discounts on EVERYTHING I buy and if I buy 2 used I get one free ontop of the discouts I get with my card and ANY OTHER discounts they might be having that day.
EB card=$10 and comes with 10 issues of GMR magazine. and gives you a 10% discount on everything and buy 2 get 1 free ontop of that for used games.
