I find myself growing tired of Battlefield.

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

I find myself growing tired of Battlefield.

Postby ShellShock » Sat Mar 06, 2004 4:11 pm

At first I denied it, but lately I find myself playing more Halo and the UT2K4 demo. After playing BF1942 almost non-stop for well over a year, I think I just need a break from battlefield in general. I'm finding myself addicted to the UTK4 demo, yet I also think BF:V will re-kindle my interests in the battlefield series.
In any case, if you don't see me playing BF:V on launch day do not fet (or celebrate), for shellshock is just taking a short break. :D

Well I just changed my mind. After playing UT24 all day I realised something...THE GAME IS FULL OF SMACKTARDS!. No one bothers with the powernodes, all anyone cares about is their "l133t" scores and camping for vehicles. I think I've been spoiled by ECGN's relatively smack-tard free environment. :(

Needless to say, if you're looking for teamwork, go with BF: Vietnam and ECGN!

I just tried DC .7 for the first time in well over half a year. I must say, it is AMAZING!

The types of maps and vehicles and weapons they've been able to produce, is just mind boggling. They have a city with buildings everywhere, and it's huge! It's just like you're in a lifesize baghdad. Gigantic.

I just got finished almost an hour of solid DC play, and didn't get bored once. I usually tire of regular BF after 20 minutes of play.

Check out DC. If you get bored in a week, then atleast you tried it.

this map totally blew me away. The Americans parachute onto this really big Iraqi oil miner in the middle of the ocean. it's huge, and you can get lost very easily on it. Kept my attention for almost 2 hours today!

For all of you bored with BF and the usual mods, try Battlefield Pirates ! It's a very well-made mod that stands out as unconventional, a little tongue-in-cheek. It has muskets, swords (SirLoin would cream his pants), black-powder guns, 3 types of sailships including mighty galleons. Nice maps too. Beta2 is only a 57 Megs download, there is a few servers inclusing an official one (set "BFP" as a map name filter, and beta3 is in testing phase (I have a beta test session tomorrow PM).

Oh and there's a map with hot-air balloons, they drop powder kegs as bombs. W00t!

I'll post a review some time.

I'm on Spring Break now and I'm glad I'm going to get a nice week long break before I dive head-first into BFV.

Yeah, I'd hate to say it but 1942 is getting a tad bit old for me too.. all the same maps - and I've played them all enough that I think that every possible scenario on those maps has occurred. Luckily, V will be out very, very soon.

Well I went ahead an pre-ordered the UT2K4 special edition today. Though hopefully I should also be able to purchase Vietnam by the end of the month. :)

I used to get it to the part where the guys would beg and I'd save the game and load it over and over... :rotflmao: man, those were the days.

I still love battlefield, but the current mainly vanilla rotation doesn't help :(

March 16th will be a good day :)

farcry is one of the best demo's ive played in a long time. amazing, you all should give it a try. but if you do, make sure you download the SECOND demo, the first one runs too slow.
