Bad news for Dish Network Subscribers

Postby Ryan » Sun Mar 07, 2004 6:01 am

Because Dish is too stuckup to meet Demands from CBS / Viacom, it will likely drop many popular channels from its lineup. Heres what will drop:

BET - Comedy Central - MTV - MTV2
Nick Games & Sports
Nickelodeon/Nick at Night (East and West)
NOGGIN - VH1 - VH1 Classic

Now sure, most of those are worthless, but I know a lot of people watch MTV, MTV2, and Comedy Central. If you are a Dish Network Subscriber, make sure to call 1-800-333-DISH and complain. They are going to lose a LOT of business over this.

Yeah, they've been running a message at the bottom of the screen since yesterday about that. I think this is going to be a major blow in the dish/cable wars, and the dish companies have noone to blame but themselves. Personally, I hate my cable company - they gouge prices, have a monopoly on where I live, and provide generally lousy service. I'd get rid of it in a second if I had an alternative - but trees block my satellite signal, plus the lousy phone company doesn't have DSL in my area. So what's a guy to do?

I can't wait till those guys make it out this way.. I'm so sick of Chatah it ain't even funny. I think they've made it as far as the Framingham area, but they're not moving fast enough. I'm switching over as soon as they get out here.

Where I live we have three choices for cable:

Cablevision
Comcast
Time Warner

Now, I use Cablevision. Sure, their cable prices may be a bit high, but their cable internet kicks the shit out of 95% of cable companies across the country.

lets sue cable companies like adelphia

my service has just gone up $12 a month taking my cable/broadband bill to over $120. (broadband here is $50 and I live to far away for dsl and dialup=shit) I am forced to drop digital cable. now my cable bill is $96 and ever month or so they raise rates, at this rate my cable bill will be over $150/per month in a year unless I drop premium cable and take the basic cable. I do not have a choice to even get dish or ANY satalitte as I live in an apartment and adelphia runs a monopoly in the area with no cable competitors in the area.
