If you wouldn't mind taking this discussion public, I'd appreciate it. I'm thinking about buying one before we go to Hawaii in early August. I'm not real knowledgeable about these and I'd like to know what people like/dislike.

HT I have the Panasonic PV-DC252D
It's two years old so I can only assume technology has improved. I like the size very much. It is so small I can fit it in my pocket. It is best used for outdoors and if I need to use it inside there has to be a lot of light. It takes OK digital pics but is good enough for me because I don't own a digital camera. I hook it up to my comp using fire wire and do editing with Microsoft Movie Maker.

I have the Canon ZR45 (I think that's the number) and its a great camera. Small with easy controls and I've had no problems with it. It even has abuilt in digital camera, but the resolution isn't that great on the still photos. You can also record mpegs, etc. I like it.
