What do you want in an admin?

ok so raging was a slight exageration but there was definate converation on the topic of whether or not it was ok to shoot tker and door blockers in the back when you are an admin, or something to that effect. Like I said I wasn't really paying attention to it so feel free to ignore me if it was nothing.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid but why don't you just remove the vote function from the server? I've only once seen a vote pass and it seems to annoy the admins canceling the incessant voting so why not end the attachment to this failed democratic experiment and bring in the days of autocratic rule.

Babysitting the server will only help to keep everyone as babies, no0bs if you will. The admin bot, clientside commands, and a little creativity should be able to handle most problems that arise.

If somone is tking, they will be kicked for 3 minutes unless forgiven before they hit the tk limit.

If someone is spamming, spam protection is there.

If someone is blocking, bind a key to +salute and shove them out of the way.

If your whole team is bunching up in the trenches cuz they all suck, let them go first and get pf'ed, or make the jump out of the bunker to the ledge (cap your fps at 41, 83, 92, 120, 140, or 170 and dont have a ping over 100) or go around the outside wall.

If you keep getting killed by a venom, deal with it starscream, hehe.

If your team keeps tapping out right in front of you, deal with it medicalman, lol.

Admins are only needed for cases such as a player running around taking peoples health down to 10 and not tking them or lagged players that are affecting the team balance. Oh, and i guess for advertising and clan recruiting since it so distracting to the game play.

ps. Agree with parrot, definitely disable voting as it is ALWAYS canceled by an admin.

It is not ok for anyone to shoot anyone under any circumstances. Admin or not. We're all here to enjoy the game equally.

I was there when you were Parrot and I have no idea how you came up with this.

You may have read one of my or another admins' posts to a player telling them to watch their friendly fire.

i think with the ff on the admins have an easier job, the players sometimes (esp. regulars) take it in there own hands, say shoot a blocker, kill a dyno'er, and push a few peeps, not that i'm saying its right, but just my opinion. I miss zog, for the fact i think he was level headed, and I like what the admins are doing, I have never seen any admin abuse power, if you wanna be a prick, they will be a prick right back. Long live 24-7 FF beach!!!!!!!!!!!!

opps almost forgot i think the forgive thing is a little too nice, lets just say if you get 5 forgives and you are still tk'ing (when admins not there) you should be kicked for say half hour or something- just a thought

I personalally don't forgive sometimes especially if non regs kill me, just a little lesson for the new guy to not tk and watch the nades

Anybody else do that

I think the admins on Beach are perfectly level headed, and I think they all do a great job. Most problems I've seen in these forums are misunderstandings or beefs that are clarified and/or cleared up within 24 hours through private messaging (im assuming) or posted replies.

Admins are people though, and people all have different degrees of tolerance.... which creates varied opinions... it doesn't necessarily mean anyone is a 'bad' admin per se.

I think the beach is running smooth and great. I've seen a few people do things with their admin powers that were IMO a lot worse than kicking people too fast..... but things get sorted out. I think the admins on beach all do an AWESOME job. I haven't been around these forums for years or anything... but in the few months I have I've noticed that a lot of people never hesitate to give credit in these forums to the admins.... which is often. I think there's actually a thread somewhere that was started not too long ago to pay credit to the beach admins...

Personal judgement is relative..... and I think its just a matter of balancing opinions and levelling out.

And I'm going to admit that FF is a great thing.

i used to just do !forgive all cus i am lazy! but recently i have been getting really pissed at all the td's i have been getting! mainly from flamers my least favourite weapon! now i do !forgive and forgive only individuals, if i can't remember if they were a tard i usually forgive! but anyone who does anything totally stupid does not get forgiven!
