I, Robot trailer is out
Just what, exactly, does this have to do with the Isaac Asimov novel of the same name? Awful.

Poor Isaac must be spinning in his grave, knowing his works and theory are being bastardized by pop culture. Will Smith?

<SIGH>
A difficult plot:
"Your robot killed someone!" "But that's physically impossible!" <lots of invesitgation and plot twists> "Wow, guess you were right - the 3 Laws do make it impossible!"
A stupid, Hollywood-type plot:
"Your robot killed someone!" "But that's physcially impossible!" <lots of explosions, bodies flying, evil corporations denying responsibility, probably a scene where the CEO is killed by a robot> "I guess that proves that Laws Were Meant To Be Broken, and that humanity should never put their complete faith in machines."
I predict a tepid movie with plot #2.

It's too bad Hollywood won't get with the times. If they want to make a REALLY scarey thriller (and stuff it full of cheesy action scenes and a cool humble hero spouting the pop-culture euphamisms current on the street) they should look at the very plausible (and far easier to create than fidgety machinery) future of genetic manipulation. People with wings, four-arms, scales, whatever you want.
Hmm.. maybe this has already been done. Dunno... I don't watch tv (never owned one) and only allow myself to get legaly mugged by cinemas once in a blue moon.
If memory serves correct, though, in the original Asimov I Robot, the robot starts out hiding on Ganymede trying to get his way back to earth and he's hunted because he broke one of the prime directives. So, loosely, the movie does follow that structure. Loosely.
