Looks like i've created quite the trend.

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

The whole 'sigx' thing is pretty neat, huh!

SIGX is the green thing in the bottom of my sig. Its configurable, and runs as a process on your computer. Its pretty neat, as it reports back to their servers a bunch of different options. To get it, follow the link in the sig.

I'm confused as to the benefit of this thing. What does it do for you?

Does it just relay info to others about your system? I see that Boisclair is listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers, sweet!

its pretty cool.

i use filenames for most of my mp3s not lameass id3 tags,
because i like to include Lp/Ep names. so unless i can figure out this whole word wrapping thing itll never be as good as id like. but if im playing off a cd it doesnt matter i guess.

a window into my sick little world.

I'm going to have to agree with your title. You are criminally insane if you think filenames are more useful than ID3 tags ID3 can hold all the information you'd ever want; as long as your using version 2 anyway.

i dont need to know the genre or year or stupid info like that.
ive never had any problem putting all the info i could possibly want. my cataloging method is perfect. so yeah, call me crazy but im anti-id3. what i see is what i get.

I personally like ID tags. I agree you could put a lot of information in the actual name of the file... but.. and here is the BIG but... when burning MP3 CD's a file name can only be so many characters long. If the file name is too long it will be truncated because it does not fit the ISO standards.

I admit it's a pain to setup the tags, but it's worth the time. My car MP3 player scrolls the artist name/titles of the songs (but only if you use the tags). I like seeing the song titles.

but hey.. it's a free country. Do whatever works for you! :)

i dont have a cd player in my car, hell i dont have a car.
when i did burn a cd and played it in someones car i did notice the oddball track or two scrolling the title. so that is certainly an advantage. havent thought about that in a long time. i cant turn back now.

Well.. found the remote script for this! r0x0r!!

If you have webhost that allows PHP, you, too, can have a custom SIGX sig! And no SIGX advertisements!

Check my sig for more.. info. :P
