Come on, where are the people who are always in political arguments, like Colonel Ingus and JimmyTango?
Ok I will bite.
Economic Left/Right -0.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian -0.41
On the graph I am shown dead centered. Pretty much where I figured I would be. So as far as myself is concerned it seems like a pretty accurate test. I like to stand in the middle and point out towards the polarized people and say "You are BOTH wrong!":D
I pretty want the best for the most without special treatment for anyone. Some law and order is good but the Department of Homeland Gestapo is not.
I too had a problem with several questions on this test.
Everyone has their rights, but it is better for all of us that different sorts of people should keep to their own kind.
What kind of question is this? I don't support segragation but if a bunch of idiots want to live in "White Hope" Texas more power to them (yes, there really is a White Hope Texas.) How can you answer this question in the way the answers are given? I support states rights as opposed to Federal regulations in that if people want strong "moral values" in their state I can always move to another and smoke legalized marijuana.
As an interesting side note, The old Left-Right system comes from the French Parliament in the 17-1800's. When facing the parliament from in front the older, wealthier, more conservative types sat all the way to the right and the newer, socially liberal types sat towards the left end.
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." ... Benjamin Franklin

The options weren't adequate for about 50% of the questions, and there are a lot more inputs that could have been used. To truly do it right, the questions should all be presented multiple times, but disguised and rephrased - I felt a lot of the questions were oversimplified, and thus, leading.
My scores belie my opinion and are useless, but here they are:
Economic Left/Right: -3.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.97
I am not nearly as far left nor am I as far south as this would have you believe.

really wouldnt have figured that it would turn out this way...
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -2.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.44
My sentiments as well...not really accurate IMO.

I have not failed...I have just found 10,000 ways that don't work.

Wow. I made this over three months ago, nice to see it get bumped up.
I'm aware that some of the questions are vague or disguised - leading to innacuracy - but there's really no better test, IMO. The economic section needs some work.
Last time I took it I showed up around (2, -2). That is perfectly accurate.
