You can download from them, or use the Autoupdate from creative to grab it.

Bullhead, have you installed these? If so, how do they work? BF:1942, BF:v?

I always have a sh*tload of trouble updating Audigy 2 drivers. I seem to lose my DTS output every time I do it. I always end up reverting back to a known-good version.

Make sure you guys have the EAX 4.0 Advanced HD Driver installed before installing this patch. It's been available for several months but some of you still may not have it yet.

Creative has a handy autoupdate that should be used. It works like Windows Update and tells you what you need.

Irish, thanks for the autoupdate clue. I ran that and it solved some long-running problems I've had with Creative drivers for my Audigy 2. I'll buy you a drink in DC for technical services rendered.

Since Bullhead's not attending, I guess I can't buy him one. Ah, hell, I'll buy you a beer Bullhead and I'll drink it for you.

Shock, it's better but certainly not perfect. I still can't get music to work for me when I'm using the 1st person view inside a chopper. However, I can get music while in a jeep now. Before, I had no music except from external views.

I'm using the EAX3 mode with a 5.1 speaker setup.

hmmm yes it is a bit better. There are less sound bugs, but the performance is still considerably worse than using miles2D.

I hope a patch is on it's way soon

I don't have performance issues using the EAX drivers and I have everything cranked to the max. I've got a 2.8 machine. Are you CPU-bound?

No, I have a P4 2.4 running at 3.2 Ghz, with a 9800pro and an Audigy II.

For some reason, whenever I enable EAX, I get skippy frames per second and sound bugs so I just stick to miles 2D. I've added in the sound fix to default.con but I still have issues.

You aren't experiencing any drop in framerates when going from miles2D to EAX?

maybe i will give EAX3 a try...

I'll get some actual numbers for you. I've not done that yet. I'm just going on feel and how the game performs from a visual standpoint.

I have a 9700 Pro which is inferior to your 9800.
