Video card problems

Postby Buddahead » Sat Apr 03, 2004 11:08 pm

Well i was just running a bench mark on my computer so i could post my score in the forums. I ran it and i got a 5120 which is terrible considering my system specs: p4 2.8c 512mb of dual channel ddr 400 and a radeon 9800 pro. Now i downloaded the newest driver hoping this would fix the problem, no it didn't. So i went and looked at the adapter settings and it appears my card is being pick up in a pci slot although i clearly put have the card in my agp 8x slot. WTF is going on.....if anybody could help it i would appreciate it greatly... Ty oh and btw heres a pic of what i was refering to

Normal. Do not be concerned by this.

Budda, if I had to guess I'd say it's your 512mb that's hurting you. Post a screen cap of the 3Dmark window, or post your compare link. That way we can see what areas it is suffering in, might give a hint.

Also, most of use bench with AA/AF turned off (app. pref.), and all the sliders set to performance (far left).

Note: I'm on PCI bus 2 :D (I forget the technical behind it, but it's nothing to worry about IMO.)

I corrected the PCI mis-labling and all my games suddenly went SO much faster! I'm now running everything maxed with AA and AF maxed, still with 100+ FPS! HALO will even allow AA!

Dakana-
Its that RAM set up. Drop that 256 stick and get another 512 of DDR400 and run it in Dual setup. Sell the stick and video card on Ebay.

Also, if you have $200.00 run out and get a 9800PRO.
