Monitor Refreshing

I was just (still) playing on Kharkov, flying around Stuka whorring, when my monitor starts refreshing at a rate which I can see it. To describe it.. well, I can see it refreshing.. there's a black patch that scrolls over the screen.. it's fast enough that I can still play, but it's annoying as hell.

I'm running the game at 1600x1200x32@75 and get 100 fps. (It seems as if it doesn't go above 100fps ever).

Any other info needed, or any suggestions?

Ok, just noticed that it happens when the plane is damaged, so I assume it's the smoke effect... but still, it's really annoying, and is it my monitor?

That always happens to me when i'm flying in a damaged plane. the smoke shows up, goes away, shows up, goes away REALLY fast and it looks like my monitor is chopping or something...

it doens't happen when I'm flying in a plane that's not billowing smoke, so it's not a problem with the monitor
