Gone for a week too

Postby Dakana » Sat Apr 24, 2004 5:45 pm

Well, starting Monday at 8:00pm, I'll be on a bus heading to Washington, DC. It's a school trip and is going to be really fun. I get back between 6-10am on Saturday.

:violin: Evan: If that was truly aimed to be an insult, then calm down... Jesus H. Christ... what did I do to you?

If it was intended to be a joke, then it wasn't very clear.

Anyway, I'm back. DC was pretty cool, though in 144 hours I got around 17 hours of sleep, and walked 6:00 - 8:00 around DC, around 2-3 miles a day. Hotel room air circulation messed up all of our throats, and I got either a flare up of allergies or a cold, so I'm pretty miserable. Still, Washington was pretty amazing. The bus ride down there and back up was grueling, with 400 kids loaded into a 10-stall/urinal restroom and three stops. Argh.. the :tard:s.

Once I get my film developed I'll post a few pictures. I hope the meetup goes well there.

loL... I hope the meetup isnt for the summer... I went to DC in the summer a few years ago and it is hotter than hell!!! The Air and Space museum had excellent airconditioning thankfully...

DC does get hot... but except for Tuesday and Friday, the sky was clear blue 24/7... gorgeous. Air and Space museum was bleh for me because I'm used to the one here in Dayton that has just as cool of stuff. Of course, since my group sucked, we didn't get to see the Zero and P-51 exhibit.

--Update--

I have some pictures that I'm in the process of scanning.

This was a cool Iwo-Jima shot. I'm trying to enhance it...

:tard: :P I'm not about to take a $200 digital camera on a 5-day trip, where I leave bags on the bus for security quickness, put things in x-ray belts with 200 other kids going through, and sleep in a hotel with 3 other people.

So I used 4 disposables :)
