Don't waste your time with Tribes 1. Even though it was a great game in it's time, Tribes 2 has surpassed it in every way. Just remember that Tribes is a Multi-player game only. Oh I suppose 2 does have some sort of single player mode, but it is sorely lacking. Tribes was designed as a multi-player game from the start.

I am looking forward to the newest incarnation.

Oh and be sure to download Panama Jacks scripts and install them. They really add a lot of good features left out of the game. You can download them here.

You will be glad you installed them. Lots of handy features you can enable/disable. Not extremely user friendly, but worth the extra effort.

Sonar, what nick did/do you have for T2? I have been playing the game for a long time, would love to hook up with some of the crew here in a server some time. No doubt about Panama Jacks scripts, some of the best clean stuff out there.

Sheesh, don't suppose any of the crew here can recommend any decent servers? Decent = 36 player minimum, Team Damage on, and either version 2/classic/vanilla. A sweet Team Rabbit 2 server would also go well with me.

Folic do you plan on playing again?

I paid good money for T2  ...11.99 to be exact...;)

Also...a great server with ecgn-likeness is HOUSTON VEHICLES.

Friendly mods...zero tolerence for smackers.

http://www.houstonvehicles.com

They have a couple servers running...and custom maps are run too! :)

This is where I used to play before I lost my HD. Went looking for it again and stumbled on Miami Vehicles, and a what looked like Houston Vehicles gone over to a different mod.

A couple of more useful links for ya:

Great place to grab T2
maps
I suggest this first because it is much easier to grab the two larger map packages- DynamixFinalPack.vl2 and Xpack_2 than to rely on the aut-DL script below.

I also recommend another Panama Jack script: Auto Map Downlod

Install it and it doesn't matter what map is being played, you will auto-DL it. Something sadly lacking in the BF series.

Tigga, you may like the Classic mod they released for T2, basically brings back most of the T1 physics and maps. So you get a similar gameplay experience to T1.

To all interested, my handle in T2 is (of course) Doomfarer with my {CN} tag on.

I think there are several servers...

Miami and revmod are the two biggest!

Server IP'S:
216.117.170.250:28000 (Houston Vehicles (original) )
69.44.57.105:28000 (Miami Vehicles)
151.200.199.56.28000 (Revmod2 server)

I'm getting this now. Funny thing is somewhere I have the CD which I payed the full $60 dollars for! I played this game for a while but it was a bit laggy on my hardware back then (network seemed to bog down much more than with the simpler tribes 1...)
Hope to play some of you in this one, (Tribes2)
