Smartgart

It has come to my attention that smartgart really isn't as smart as the name of it would have you assume.

I tried turning it from 8x to 4x in hopes my PC wouldn't get as hot (currently the air inside the case is 90celcius and that makes my room heat up to the 80s and 90s fareinhight (SP?))

Well smart gart said it would have to reboot to detect if the new settings would be stable (Why would't they be?) so after it reboots smartgart resets my AGP settings back to 8x!

Well I'm like OK, lets try this again, I switch it to 4X again and restart but I go into my BIOS and change my AGP apature setting from 8X to 4X, saved and exited.

WEll smartgart STILL put my settings back to 8X agp, well I said OK, didn't worry about smart gart and I rebooted looked at my BIOS and it says it's running at 4X so why does smartgart not let me set it to 4X or is this a known bug?

I thought that smartgart was supposed to adjust according to the particular apps that you're running. Sort of like an advanced "app preference", or am I totally wrong?

It's basically crap. Ignore it. (IMO).
