I bought a 120 Gb hd and an external enclosure.... maybe not as portable, but it was CHEAP (less than $100 TOTAL) AND hold about 6X as much info. (or more.. just a bigger drive) and you can store anything. Not just MP3's.

Very portable with USB 2.0 AND Firewire. All I do is plug this puppy into a PC and instant recognition! No software to install, nothing. Works on every PC!

Ok.. it's not as portable as an Ipod or Karma, but i just burn MP3 CD's for my car. I even have a backup of all my info on another 120 Gb WD 8Mb SE (actually I have 3 identical hard drives.. You can never be too careful with important information)... $60/drive. Ya can't beat it!!!

Yeah I did the same, I got a 200 Gb smartdisk crossfire and it's sweet, I hardly keep anything on my main hard disk now. I just have to turn it on and itunes picks up all the tracks.
