Horsepower:

Yeah, I do have my phone/internet bundle... so I do get a $15/month discount... Sorry, I guess I should have made that clear.

I found that by combining my cell/internert/home phone with Bellsouth, I was actually getting more phone options, cell time, unlimited long distance, and 2 phones for the same price. It was a no-brainer to combine all the services.

So.. $55 with no bundle... $40 with bundle.

It's pretty good. See if you can change your settings to use up to 8 streams at once and you'll see your speed increase a lil bit.

it's "meh" as some people would like to say.

I get an average of about 1250/200.

ok question: Do routers effect internet performance?

Also: My DSL (from earthlink although i think bellsouth does the local stuff for them) is pretty far up there on the list baggins posted (though not as high as he is) but why do i get shitty download speeds? It seems i never get above 150 and 90 i slike average. Yes i know it depends on the site, but i would think i would get higher...

Why? You should be able to get residential for less than half of that price.

ALl the speed tests from that site are in california. o_O

2004-06-25 00:10:38 EST: 2109 / 261
Your download speed : 2159837 bps, or 2109 kbps.
A 263.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 268096 bps, or 261 kbps.

I tried all 3 of the speed test servers. That one was the slowest. (LA CA)

I think it would have gone much faster if I had a server closer though. Because I've gotten 3.1Mbps down before.
