Mutation found in 'muscle man' toddler

Postby Jeffro » Thu Jun 24, 2004 1:56 am

A seven-month old baby with a genetic mutation that boosts muscle growth is seen in an undated black and white image released by the New England Journal of Medicine (news - web sites) on Wednesday June 23, 2004. The discovery, reported in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine, represents the first documented human case of such a mutation. The boy's mutant DNA segment was found to block production of a protein called myostatin that limits muscle growth.

I just saw this on Drudge site; pretty wild. Imagine if scientists can find a way to interrupt this myostatin flow in everyone. Maybe I could run for Governor of California.

Oh the Germans would like us to believe this is a random mutation, but I know better. They're creating a race of supermen. Get ready boys... its time to lock and load!

To much muscle is bad though. You would become so heavy and bulky you couldn't move. :\

Your skin can only stretch so much before it tears. It's not like muscle, which tears to grow and get bigger.

Nobody wants a skinless muscle-bound person roaming the streets.

I mean, who'd clean up the mess?
