Beach needs some changes

Postby Slaughter1 » Tue Jun 29, 2004 11:32 pm

seems to me beach is getting out of control for tk's especially in the hours from 8-12:00 pm est...what ever happened to the autokick after 5 tk's.....its getting retarded that I run up steps or down steps and get tk'd with why should I look nade tk's, and you know all the other hot spots for tk's ect....And the moron flamer and rail gun that sit and camp and shoot just to shoot, but my bitch is no one is held responsible anymore for such things, and second my bitch is to make it a little more fair for the people that defend the upper bunker the whole game is that the doc touches be eilimated for points....its not the points that bug me its people who are pointards hang in the w/r or run for docs all game and not help the team wtf.....I find myself and Keek can say the same thing I'm sure, that I have 4 on 1's and 3 on 1's most of game because the points are soooooo important....i say be a man, who the hell cares if you get to kill the doc carrier, or touch the docs, come and fight with the men that have been here since the beginning....any comments?????????????????

pb auto kicks at -20 for a 2 minute duration. Beyond that admins are usually around to spec bad/suspicious players. Too much admin interferance = nazi control, not enough = anarchy.... difficult to strike a balance in the middle. Overall, I think the Beach admins do an amazing job. We've got a fantastic bunch of regulars who enjoy a nearly tard-free game.

As for random tk's.... I'm guilty of a lot. It happens. Probably the most annoying one is when you're priming a nade and get wiped by a faust or another nade and your pinapple tinkles to the ground and wipes out 3 of your own guys. I REALLY hate that. Beach is a tight map with quite a few bottle-necks. Makes for a lot of action--but also sets up situations where unintentional tk's happen a lot.

As for how people play the game... lol--there's a long standing traditional argument :D I get a big bang out of dukeing it out with the guys top-side. War-room camping isn't my scene (unless i'm hanging on at 3 minutes left with one meesly life--then I'm crying behind a bunk-bed in the basement screaming "P-pleasse don't kill mee").

Anyways, the guys who slug it out top-side know who they are. I get a big kick out of fighting with/against you guys. We don't get a lot of points, but we beat hell out of our keyboards and mice leaping around each other in skirmishes :D

Keek.

I liked it when I played on ECGN regularly. Auto kick for 5 minutes for to much team damage no matter how high your score is. Bleed to much your gone. I was auto kicked sometimes didn't bother me to much.

It's hard to monitor a 64 Man server on a small map like that, every nade thrown has a decent potential to kill a teammate especially when you get into the stairs/base,ent/warroom. The map really wan't meant for 64 players with FF on, theres not much you can do.

lol keek ok your right we are an elite few and very few who trol on the upper and lower levels, lol I have been playing so long with ya, that I know where not to lobe a nade cause I know your there, and against you i love it because I sneak around the corner thinking I know he's here somewhere, after about 3 run ups the stairs I think you have left the server lol

Yes, slaughter is absolutely right. We need to dedicate an elite escort team to protect him from unfair battles on the upper bunker. I'll give him some credit, if they were 1 vs 1's he would definitely have a chance.

On second thought, it'd probably be easier to just make him lvl 2 so he can just kick people that tk him too much. Then he can help bubba kick all the v/say_team abusers in spec :rotflmao:

Keep on pluggin' slaughter, you'll kill them sooner or later

Hmmn do we really need to have flamers? It seems to be only noobs who use flamers, and they always suck so tk's inevitably follow. If we banned the flamer then the beach would be a happy smiling land full of candy and flowers.

Seriously though the problem with tks is that the majority of tks are accidental. The fact that there ar 64 people in a very small map inevitably leads to carnage. Deliberate tkers are easy, but what if the player is just bad? For the most part I try to steer noobs towards being a med or an lt but most of them want the biggest badest weapon they can get and then they can't handle it. I can't imagine any of you would support giving admins the right to choose what class you play so there is not alot anyone can do about them, untill they really get out of control.

I agree with slaughter on getting rid of the points for touching the docs, it might help to whittle down that army of venoms that lives in the war room. I would however go further and either get rid of the point bonus for kills in the war room, or make it so that the bonus worked for the allies as well as the axis thereby giving incentive for the noob flamer to haul ass down to the war room and kill some Nazis. I also thought about a point bonus for allied kills in the radio room, that would be fun.

I agree with you Parrot. No flamers would be awesome but I don't think it will happen. I would love it to happen.

In my opinion, the points for touching the docs should either be completely removed or reduced to equal a revive (2pts). This would reduce peoples cravings to sit in the war room with a venom or even a flamer in some no0b's cases.

I think my biggest complaint is how regulars will ban together against an uber-noobish team... and delightfully torment and just plain pwn them for 25 minutes.

At the end, thump their cyber-chests and congratulate each other on a job well done. I like a good challenge but at some points it just gets to be a little too rediculous.

If we had an ice-cream truck randomly roll by on the grassy area it would entice more guys to be top-side.

An all-star team of Richard Simmons' diaters doing burlesque dancing on the war-room table might further entice guys to vacate the basement. Then again, guys like Kingofbeers might never leave his seat in perv-row

It is true that sometimes a lot of my deaths are tks. I also accidentally tk (as everyone does).

I do get tk'd more in the war room by venoms then any other place; I also get it in the stairs by panzys and nades a lot. Though the tks are accidental, it is mostly due to people shooting first and asking questions later.
