To stay warm, Cassini also sports nuclear-powered heaters for cold interplanetary nights. More than two dozen layers of insulation wrap the spacecraft's sensitive innards from frigid space and meteorites.

Hmm. Portable nuclear power?

You might be too young to remember it but when it launched 7 years ago, there was a big to-do because some people were afraid it was going to explode and/or crash and rain radioactive material down on our heads.
