We have a kid every few years or so that blows his chest out making pipe bombs. I wouldn't recommend it.

At last, a project worthy of my mad scientist persona!

Question, how did this kid figure out how to build one of these?

I would imagine that manufacturers of these have tested them and found many things this kid overlooked in the case of safety. You wouldn't catch me ten blocks near that thing.

URBANA, Ohio -- One man is dead and three others were injured after an explosion in Ohio late Saturday night. The deadly accident happened around 11 p.m. in the village of Cable, northeast of Urbana.

Sheriff's deputies said the men were using a potato gun when it exploded. They said the gun came in contact with gunpowder, triggering the blast.

I love guns and fireworks and am glad I can make a flame thrower when and if the time comes, but I would not screw around with this thing. I will add that having it blow up and kill you or someone else would be a tragedy. Being burned over 30-90% of your body would be a nightmare, and then you would die.

It helps if you think of it as darwinism in motion. That way when some muppet blows himself up you can console yourself that at least he won't be passing on any of those genes.

Speedy, myself and 2 other friends all made potato guns...
Fun as, well lotta fun. we use to shoot them at eachother but never hit one another. I always wanted to make a pistol version that shot those little red spuds.

Fireworks have come a LONG way...I know here where I'm at they had laws stating no fireworks whatsoever unless you lived near a fishery and were scaring birds away, or u were warning a oncoming train of danger...Or you sign a waiver saying you wont use them...YEAH RIGHT :flame:
