Department of Homeland Gestapo

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/southflorida/sfl-cscreeners30jun30,0,2394213.story?coll=sfla-home-headlines

Not only did George preside over the biggest expansion of Government since FDR (Strange, I thought his campaign platform stressed smaller government, eeriely simiiar to Reagen's "smaller government" that grew phenominally) But in addition to harrassing and annoying average citizens and doing exactly what the terrorist hoped to accomplish, his Dept of Homeland Gestapo steals from us also!

YEAH!

Department of Homeland Security, Curbing American freedoms and harrassing her citizens since 2002!

This *IS NOT* a intimation between Bush and Hitler but I am sure many people in pre-war WWII Germany thought the same thing.

In fact I have read about it. I am not going to do the whole quote (probably get it wrong) "and when they came for me there was no one left to speak for me"

Yeah, the Gestapo was famous for petty theft and waiting for people to elect to go on commercial flights. Get a grip Colonel and stop packing your bong when you fly somewhere. I can't even tell if this is a right-wing or a left-wing conspiracy theory you're espousing, but I'll tell you this: it is a conspiracy theory.

Its "Don't curb my liberties theory" not even a conspiracy.

The DHG is exactly what the terrorists want and George just hands it right over to them.

Curb individual liberties, make travel and business, which is one of the greatest strengths of a "FREE" country and a "FREE" market economy, harder and more exasperating, set-up a "police force" that distrust and monitors it own societies citizens.

What the hell was going on in the White House?

"Hmm lets see. Terrorists attack, time to bring the nation together, inspire patriotism and love of country,...Hey I got it! Lets set up a police force to harass our own citizens, steal from them, hurt the airline industry, and accomplish the terrorists goals all at one time! As an added bonus we can provide a real reason for Americans to dislike this administration instead of the usual ones the liberals just make up out of whole cloth!"

Hell at least when FDR provided jobs at government expense during a depression he had them build useful shit.

Free does NOT = safe. You have to earn your freedom and you have to defend it vigourously. When you start giving up your freedoms to feel safe (note I said feel, you're not any safer but you "feel" safe)... well there are just to many examples to list.

Quick quote here for you, can anyone name the gentleman? This is kind oif especially poignant it being Independence day weekend and all.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

[edit] updated my profile, its in there don't go hacking on Evan for being unobservant. It wasn't there when he posted.

Here's a little gem to add

http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/news/nation/9098626.htm

Now we have special classes of travellers that are considered "safe" and don't go through the same process the rest of us "suspects" (read regular Americans) have to.

Now we can divide our society and call some more trustworthy than others!

Alrighty then we will just go ahead and scratch out that part that reads "...all men are created equal".

I am proud! Yes proud I say! In the fact that Americans did not let that despicable act of terrorism change what had made this country great! You told 'em and showed 'em George!
