Thought that this was a neat story. Glad our pilots don't have to jettison bombs when they are attacked...would be TK madness :)

Cool story there Sewer-Urchin.

Colateral damage sucks and thank God no one was hurt

During the Gulf War (I) my ship was doing plane guard for the USS Midway which had an aircraft returning with ordinance that they wouldn't let land. They told him to drop his bombs at the coordinates that we were at and they forget about the fact there was a US ship there!

2:00 in the morning and BOOM!!!! scared the living shit out of everyone and we set a record for establishing General Quarters. His payload went off about 1000 yards off our port bow. Our Captain calls and bitches out the Midway and we get back "Er..oops? forgot you were there".

You know what is nuts? Being on a yacht in the middle of the great lakes(forget which one, Mich I think) and seeing a few jet fighters scream over, proceed to do a 180 and then use your yacht as target practice since it is big enough to lock onto.

As a representative of Canada, you didn't see nothing! We do not have jet fighters and we are not amassing an army to come and take over your country! ;)

2 weeks ago the US border patrol confiscated tins of ravioli from us... coincidence?
I think we got the raw end of that deal though.

Well maybe its not the same as being fired at, but an F-22 doing a nearly supersonic flyby at maybe 300 feet is a bit frightening...
