About political threads

Postby Colonel Ingus » Thu Jul 15, 2004 11:32 am

WTF is with you people? You don't want to read it don't click on it!

How much simpler can it be people?

You're like the idiots who go and pay to get a porno channel and then bitch about there being filth on your tv.

STFU already you don't want to read it then DON"T READ IT!

I know its amazing but you actually have the option to NOT click on that thread. You can actually look at the title and say "Hmm probably political, I don't want to read it."

Instead we have repeated smacktards clicking on them, reading them, and then bitching about the fact that they are there.

You don't want to be part of the debate? you don't want to read it? THEN DON"T! KEERIST! How much easier can it be?

I think what most people bitch about is the constant flaming that comes with the threads. I personally like reading them, I just dont get into them as much as you guys do. Whether I have an opinion and dont want to share it or it is something way over my head that i have absolutely no clue about. I say keep posting them........On that note Colonel Ingus 8...Jimmytango 3

I think part of the issue is that complaints come in and mods have to close or edit threads which is a major pain because people cannot behave themselves, hence political threads don't work well on a gaming forum

I can understand that being an issue for you staff members and apologize for it.

But what part of don't read it! don't they get. If they never click on the thread to begin with it should never be an issue to the staff.

Granted, I agree we do get a little hot sometimes and need to keep the flaming/rhetoric down. I'll do my best.

Its like people who flip the channel until they find something they don't like so they can complain about it. You are more than welcome to read the posts and you are more than welcome to not read them.

It seems relatively simple to me. Instead of spending your time looking for something you don't like, and then complain about it, why don't you go and find something you do like and enjoy?

everyone is free to post what they want on an ECGN forum as long as it fits the rules that ECGN states.

So, until an ADMIN or OWNER states otherwise to you Ingus, feel free to post what you like when you like. No problems from me :)

To others, if you don't have a valid rebuttle to a political statement and just want to rib the poster, I highly advise not doing so as you only make yourselves look bad.

PS. If anyone has a problem with a thread, feel free to PM me and I will either help you or pass the info along to the appropriate dept.

when I look at the top of this site it says:
Eastcoast GAMING network.
You can talk about a few war-topics ('cause that is the subject of our favourite game right?), but political threads do not belong here.
If I visit a forum about great cars, I'm not gonna post what kind of motorcycle I have.
That has nothing to do with: don't click on the subject if you don't want to read it. Or:" freedom of speech", blablabla.
Have a nice day :)

I concur. Can't we get a separate forum for political topics? Then we won't have morons coming an and whining about how the threads are taking up their precious space *cry*

It's a good idea... I could start it off with some interesting topics...

That "It Had To Happen" thread was an attempt to inject humor. It had been almost 3 WHOLE DAYS since any of us had started a political thread. I must have be going thru the DT's:help:
