I'm sure that if Kerry was Prez and that girl opened her act with her political commentary on how she doesn't like Kerry she wold get stung for it the same way.

Ah but Shockwave you miss the real point. This isn't some government conspiracy, this isn't some media program. These are actual Americans telling people how they feel and what they believe.

There are "artists" saying bad things about Bush and getting applause from their crowds. They are targeting the correct market. When your market is Bush supporters (or rather people who agree with what is happening) and you rant against him, then you bear the burden of marketing your product incorrectly.

If I've read correctly Whoopi's comments the other evening were meet with applause. And she still lost her weight loss program endorsement because the company felt it was bad for business.

Why? Because wether or not you, or I, agree or not with her people had spoken about how they would react and it was not a popular approach.

Can't the people make their own decisions? Does it have to be a "gubmint conspiracy", We don't need elected representatives to defend the viewpoint we think is right. We need people who, right or wrong, TELL their society what they think is right.

And we are free to disagree with them. And just because someones viewpoint differs from ours they still have the right to express that viewpoint, wether we agree with it or not.

At least in America.

P.S. I am awaiting your (and Keek's) comments on RCGliders thread about how Canada is allowing (albeit on a controlled basis) Al Jazeera to be broadcast in Canada but they won't allow FNC.

No sides here I just want to hear your opinion. I have already started threads from Al Jazeera myself, and stated how i read it regularly, but at least I also have access to Fox News Channel.

Yep, that's why voter turnout is lower than 50%, because frankly who cares? They won't do want they sadi they would when they get into power so why waste time going to the polling station.

Originally posted by Colonel Ingus I also don't believe in Democracy. Its failed everywhere it was tried, the jury is still out on us, and it don't look good. The Founding Fathers wanted a Republc not a Democracy.

Democracy has the major flaw that people are stupid. Unless they are properly informed on a subject they shouldn't be empowered to make decisions about it. That's why I find the american media so disturbing because in it's totally american centric and sensationalist approach it doesn't provide the knowledge that democracy needs to succeed (IMO only).

It's called an observation, Ingus.

It is also called most American people support Bush and do not like Bush bashers. It cannot be more evident than that - and it ENRAGES the Bush haters because they are the small, small minority. Power to the people I suppose?

Wow and there was me thinking Bush lost the popular vote in the last election and has an approval rating of just 52% versus 47% against. I must be stupid in thinking that, cos obviously the whole country is pro bush except for a few lunatic musicians.

Why do you just make up 'facts?'

Bush didn't win the popular vote.

He has been falling in both approval ratings and in election polls, the later to the point where Kerry has been leading.

F 9-11, and the money it has brought in, should give a little clue to you that the Bush 'haters' are not a 'small, small minority.'
