I feel bad for Miami Dolphins fans... thats a huge hit. I have a feeling Ricky liked his pot a little too much. Hes still a god in these parts though.

I'm a Pat's fan and a Red Sox fan. I think we are conditioned to expect the pain, it's our default setting. Our cynicism protects us.
Dolphins Fans though,...hope springs eternal with those guys. I have friends who are 'Fin heads (it's a strange phenomena here in NH at least, there's lot's of them!) and every year I have watched them pin their hopes on someone new, always thinking they've finally found the 'missing piece of the puzzle'. It's like when Charlie Brown tries to kick the football, you know how it will wind up, but the poor guy just can't help himself.

being able to capitalize on your opponents mistakes is what makes teams good... Bucky (f-ing) Dent just owned the sox, pedro should've been taken out sooner so Boone wouldn't have been put in that situation to win the game and people seem to forget that there was still one more game after Buckner's collosal f-up. Besides the Mets were pretty good that season too.

If you think the sox aren't an evil empire like the yanks then you are nuts. Sox owners are completely willing to throw suitcases of $$ at players only difference is Steinbrenner is willing to throw more at them.

And you guys are wanting to throw this guy out of town... trade nomar? Sox are nuts. Maybe if you guys got a better first baseman and let that bat throwin', Tejada-lovin' David Ortiz to the DH, you might have a shot. Oh yeah, if Pedro could find his fastball and maybe the rest of the bullpen could tell Derek Lowe how to pitch again. And maybe if you dressed Foulke in a A's uniform he might save more games.

Just a thought.

:help:

For all you Sox fans... do yourself a favor.... start a collection outside of fenway... and when you raise about 1000 bucks... you can buy the whole team their own copy of Tom Emansky's fielding videos... you know the one that Crimedog says "gets results" Have them watch it and maybe, just maybe you'll see that 500 game back gap close up a little.

BTW i am in no way a Yanks fan either. If i were you, i'd fucking have a chat with Theo Epstein outside Boston somewhere in an ally. Theo, a couple thugs and a bat... and have him make some changes, not some sideways steps.

Oh yeah, its my firm belief that Williams is going to Asia to move on to bigger and better things.... like heroin.

I just moved here to florida about a year ago but i grew up in rhode island and i too am a pats fan and a sox fan. Its nice to see the pats making all the big plays at the right time and getting a majority of calls go there way just as the yankees do in baseball. The patriots do ease the pain a bit when sept and october come around. Great thing about football is that anyone can come out of any division. Even though they lose ricky....they still have that defense. GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have all of you beat, I am from Chicago and our baseball teams combined haven't won since 1917.

The Cubs won in 1908 (longest streak in baseball) followed by the White Sox in 1917, then Boston in 1918. And all we do here in Chicago is talk about which team sucks the most when in reality they both haven't won a world series in my lifetime or my dads for that matter.

This is the year!!!!! All Chicago World Series!!!
