I Doth Protest!
I do believe I had intitiated many of the political threads in the last month or so and I had absolutely nothing to do with the thread that lead to the decision to try and avoid them!
I feel like a man who has worked all his life on building a ship, takes a week off, and comes back to find the ship gone!
Ryan you bastage!

I know.. I know..
Honestly, this has been in discussion for quite some time. Eventually, it would come to an end.. and that last thread was the 'nail in the coffin' I suppose.

I really enjoyed the discussions here...many were simply rants, but there was occasionally some good thought out there. I'll still play BF, but I probably won't read the forum much anymore...just not interesting anymore.
I really think that now is a poor time to end it, as many of us are in the U.S. and in 2 months we will be making choices that quite literally will affect the entire world. It's very important to discuss these issues, and it was nice to have a place to do it where you have people of a common background, gamers, but very different viewpoints. It is of course ECGN's right to do whatever they want, but personally I think the timing is bad. Just my last $.02

And I agree.
I love a good political discussion. Although, I hardly ever partisipate in them, quite simply, ECGN isin't the place for them.
Personally, I think its perfect timing. These discussions are going to escalate in the months to come, and it would truly be a moderation nightmare.
Trust me, when you meetup with us in DC, we can have many-a discussions. And I promise I won't ban any of you from the hotel room

I can understand why they're being forbidden, though I do regret that it came to this. Too many threads just ended up in petty personal attacks and flames. It seems like it almost got to the point of some baiting others just to start a flame war.
Most know me as a prolific contributor to such threads. For my part, I apologize if I offended anyone in my posts, since such was not my intent.
