Something I noticed while watching SPACEBALLS

The uniforms look like ww2 german uniforms.

Look at Colonel Sandurz...

It looks like a german officer...and Dark Helmet seems to have a "german" shaped helmut.

Maybe I'm just :freak:, but it sure seems like Mel Brooks intended the outfits to look like that.

more star wars than Nazi if you ask me.

And yes, SPACEBALLS is an all time classic. One of the first DVDs I bought (behind Tommy Boy of course).

How can you not like Barf?

One of the best quotes ever:
"Keep firing Assholes!"

Haha, Mel Brooks is hilarious. And yeah the Spaceballs uniforms do look WW II German style. If it is on purpose I'd say it's more of Mel Brooks bashing them (since the Spaceballs are all idiots). He is Jewish after all.

Ummm.. Well the idea for 'German uniforms' CAME from star wars. The Stormtrooper rifle was a mock up of an MP-44. Lucas wanted the uniforms to instill fear just like Nazi propaganda during WWII. Hence the name 'Stormtroopers'. Are you tellin me you're just getting this now?
