kill bill vol1-2- story line- uma has her people murdered by a tyrant, so she has to face the tyrants top assasins and the crazy 88 army, to make the wrong things right
now the movie hasnt come out yet, but what ive already seen in trailers seem to carry the same plot and storyline as kill bill. correct me if im wrong, does anyone else see this?

It's going to be totally overrated.

*sigh*
Hero - a Chinese movie written and shot over 3 years ago. It is being released in North America in theatres (Go to your local Chinatown and pick up the DVD for $10.) Released in 2002 in China. You can even get the divx for it in all its original glory, uncut and unedited. (The re-release of the American theatres version is 96 minutes, the REAL version is 108 minutes, wtf?)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0299977/
Kill Bill - a movie Quentin probably based on Hero from your comparison, although I think both are great movies.
Quentin Tarantino has nothing, and I mean NOTHING to do with Hero other than the fact he took it and is presenting it to North American audiences. He did not write it, or directed it, or was involved in its production in any way or form.
I have Hero on DVD in Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1, got it for $12 Canadian in Toronto... like I said, you can find this movie on DVD already if you know where to look.
If you wanna pay to see it on the full screen for the same price, go ahead... but would u own it or watch it for the same price? That's up to you.

You're in BC right, drop in Vancouver where there's a bunch of Chinese people

Or better yet, spread the word about the truth on this movie...
*sigh*
I really do hate it when Hollywood takes a product already made and labels it again, fooling the public into thinking it's new...
(First it was The Ring based directly on the Japanese movie Ringu which IMO is far, far better than The Ring, there's actually 2 sequels that follows Ringu and gee guess what, Hollywood's gonna copy them too... and now Hero...next, they will release a movie called Infernal Affairs, again, another great Chinese movie released over 2 years ago, with 2 sequels that followed, which I bet Hollywood will rehash too.... All 3 of these movies and their sequels can be bought from any major city's Chinatown on DVD or VCD in their original uncut, unedited form.) Don't even get me started on Fist of Legend, or Shaolin Soccer... ugh...
Mirmax, or popularly known as MirimAXE (axe for cutting Asian movies to fit American theatres showing times so they can be showned as many times during a day, all in the name of profit, they can careless about storyline presentation the way it was meant to be seen..... FYI, they are the same guys who rejected Peter Jackson's LOTR movies, I bet they felt stupid considering how largely successful the LOTR movies became, and gee, guess New Line Cinema basked in all of the glory and profit huh.... stupid MiramAXE!)

isnt there supposed to be more planet of the apes movies comming out? the first new one was like 4 years ago now :S

I think Quentin is just in a faze right now where he is *obsessed* with the whole kung fu action genre.
It will still be entertaining to see his take on "Hero".
BTW, re: "Planet of the Apes". I hope if there is a sequel, it is done by a whole new director, producer, cast. The one released a few years back was just horrible. They butchered the name. I was really hoping for the best and was looking forward to that one for a long time and was severely dissapointed.

The story needs some work, though...
Screw that!
I like "Lord of the G-Strings" starring "Dildo Saggins".

His take? What "his take"? He didn't do nothing to it but financed its release in North America!
He can't rewrite it, nor reshoot it without paying a lot of money for it, Hero is NOT his movie, at all!

OMG, I saw this at a friend's house while flipping through the channels late at night. I almost fell down the stairs laughing, I love that bleach beard/hair that Gandalf has. Atleast, I thought it was Gandalf
