Red Orchestra
Just wanted to get your impression of this mod for UT2k4. Its a WW2 mod that I find really well done. Theyre coming out with a new version next Friday that will include tanks and APCs as well as some other vehicles. Heres some pics, tell me what ya think.
Heres a link to download the new trailer that came out yesterday. It previews the vehicles as well as how the game plays. Its kinda choppy cause it was recorded at the highest res. to show off how beautiful it looks.

EDIT: The reason I didnt put this in the UT2k4 forums is cause nobody ever goes in there.

that looks really cool, looks like it has a call of duty look to it, if that makes any sense. all these new games and mods are tempting me to play again

Floppy & I have been playing that mod for a good while now (I got it pretty much when it came out), and I have to say that it's good times.
The maps are cool, the ironsights feature is awesome, and it really gives you the "I'm infantry in WWII" feel. No running and gunning heros, you expose yourself, you get shot, and you die.
For me, I love it.
There is a decent learning curve with the ironsights, but once you get used to it, you can pwn.

Not worth it to subscribe to Fileplanet unless you want it for the Beta tests. You can download the same files free, usually with no wait. But it would be cool if a bunch of us got together and payed a small portion of the cost for a yearly subscription, and we all used it for the downloads and betas.

I bet it plays MUCH faster than BFV
stupid bfv...I should have purchased UT2K4 and played this WWII mod instead of having to put up with ugly trees and a slow engine.

Red orchestra is very slow paced. You get no crosshair and have to aim down the sights to shoot accuratly it is very realistic with often 1 shot kills. However, if you like realistic slow paced squad games you will like Red Orchestra.
I would hardly call it slow-paced, I've had some pretty intense battles in RO
