OK.... This is the deal
This is the lowdown..., going through all the messages I picked up some good ideas and am trying to craft this as best I can.
1) Each team chooses 1 map, w beach as tie breaker. This is an outstanding idea by Wick and Killer M.
2) Round will be stopwatch. This will save time and leave less ties during givin round.
3) S.S. is in, ASH is in, WEF is in, RC is in, ASB is in (woohoo), GFU is in (of course).
4) We are going to compromise on amount of people per side. It will be 7 v 7. Teams are allowed max of 2 "wildcard" players, in the event that they can't fill full team. These wildcards must be O.C. regulars, and can't compete with more than one team during tourny. Wildcard hopefulls can contact me or leave post on forum to express interest in playing.
5) Tourny will take place on Sunday, March 9th. Plan on this being the date. We are not going to be able to please everyone, but in extraordinary circumstances we can move it (such as two whole clans not being able to play due to anthrax attack).
6) Captains.... start preparing your rosters now please, deadline will be March 1st for entrance. Match times and line-ups will be posted here for all to see. As of now it looks like we will have to begin play at 8:00 am est and finish up at 11:00 est. REMEMBER... you will not be playing that whole time, but it will take that long for everyone to play each other. Game times will be set up accordingly during day to best accomodate team needs, if you have requests for particular time let me know well in advance of match set up. We will do the best we can (example... WEF all european, will probably need a lot of early to mid day matches).
8) I'm leaning toward 8-10 minute matches, with 1 minute warm-up (not two, KM, too much time for you guys to get organized on team speak, we dont all have it). Spawn time will be as Zog has them set, with changes we will let you know of on different maps in advance (some maps require different spawn times for fairness).
SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE
P.S. All S.S. interested contact one of the team capts. We need to set up our teams. Zog, Pie, Elite, Tha. please contact me on discussing team breakdown for this comp.

Ice,
Fantastic set-up. Thanks for incorporating our ideas about the map selections. Think that will make it more fun for everyone. What all maps are eligible? Is it just the basic maps or are obscure maps like Axis Complex and Tundra to be available?
Really like the idea of submitting rosters beforehand. Let's keep this between people that regularly play on OC48 and not have a bunch of ringers come in.
Man, that is going to be one long day. I haven't spoken to Mike about the logistics of the whole thing, but maybe we could use the GFU server and have two servers running that day. That would help us out if some matches ran long. Or if some clans couldn't devote the entire day. Dunno if that could work or not.
Finally, could we please use some standard as to what the spawn times should be? I know from experience that many of us have very different ideas as to what a spawn time should be. Most leagues use something around 30-35 seconds and those that have fought in leagues prefer this. However, many of us are used to 7-15 seconds because of OC. Perhaps we should all agree on something in the middle rather than vary it by map.
Again, thanks for organizing all this Ice.

Well, I'm interested. But the question of whether or not I'll be able to show is the real bugger for me. I got a few questions that will apply to everyone:
1) When is it?
2) What time is it? (make sure you give us the time ZONE)
3) Are spectators allowed to whatch?
4) If spectators are not, will you have live stats, web cam, or something else avaliable to the public?
Well, thanks for your time!

In the first post, hitpoint, everything is said. There is something called Wolf TV that a spectator can view it from 3rd person or however, and you connect to a certain IP, but it gets sort of complicated. Anyhow, we are glad to offer our server. We can make our server shrub mod, however, by a long shot, can we turn off a few of the extras shrub has to offer? So no teams have advantages or disadvantages? Like, turn off poison for one, and extra clips and grenades for meds and lts? Also, the fast-recharge time of medics would be good to have off also.
Agreeing on a spawn time is very important also. We should find some kind of median between the two listed earlier.
Maybe we could agree on some sort of config and settings before the match. We have one for our server that we'll be glad for you guys to look at. Like panzer recharges, etc. I don't think this will be a big deal, but recharge times for lt's and medics should be agreed upon.

Shrub vs. OSP
After our little match Sunday I'd like to consider using OSP for our matches, but this might take a lot of work (especially for our non-technical players).
Having to re-write scripts at the last second was difficult, on top of actually organizing, scratching up players AND playing.
As far as Shrub's mods, or the game's settings;
The medic recharge is normal, and it's the same for both sides. All the re-sharge times are standard.
The extra clip and 'nade is minimal, in my opinion. Again, since this is the same for both sides what difference does it make?
This is not an official 'Ladder', so the rules we play by will be set by the players. I don't want to hear any of this "In our Ladders we wear tu-tus!' bull-crap.
As far as maps, rules, rosters I say every participating Clan must have submitted, by e-mail to me or Ice, their choices at least three days before the match.
I also take it that big clans will seperate into teams and compete against each other?
Is this going to be a one-loss-you're-out kind of tourney, or will losers play losers in a kind of 'Consolation Round" al-la the BeanPot Hockey Tournament?

the extra clip stays and so does the recharge time. you can get rid of the extra nade if you want. idont see how a team could have an unfair advantage if both teams have medics that have these extras. poison can go, i cant stand that anyways.

well edog, its just that the extra clip and nade makes the medic much more powerfull... and then you can use more "rambo"-tactics... you have your health AND your ammo so... this is disadvantage to more teamplaying clans and clans like wef who are used to play ladders and to regular settings...
but that's only my opinion...

I agree with you about the OSP Zog. It offers some features that would be really useful to everyone during competition and would save you admins a lot of work. As far as the mods go, my main concern was with the medic recharge rate and I see that it's normal; so I'm happy. The issue with the other mods is not that one side may have the mod while the other may not. The mods make the game easier and place less emphasis on team organization. Thus, more organized squads would benefit slightly from having mods off. But, this is a minor point and I think we've reached a fair compromise.
Now, where did this ladder tu-tu thing come from? Are you proposing something? Are you going to be springing some new skins on us all that day?

i still dont see how it is a disadvantage. those "teamplaying" clans can have medics that have an extra clip too;) its there for either team to use. all im saying is that im willing to give up the extra nade and poison, but i want to keep the extra clip.

Don't worry about it Edogg. I think it has been settled that you get both the extra nade and clip.
