What are the reasons for even loading sp2?

I've noticed the wireless connectivity is better, and somewhat easier to manage. I had a brand new Sony Z1 (XP Pro SP1) that would constantly disconnect from APs not two feet from it.

Since the installation of SP2 that connection has been much more stable and reliable. I have a mixed network of wired and wireless using PCs and Macs...and my Macs stay on wirelessly literally for months on end with no disconnections. With my Windows machines it was always hit or miss, and a CONSTANT source of frustration.

SP2 also has an easier to configure firewall, more tools for dealing with Browser Helper Objects and generally seems to at least acknowledge the security risks of the Internet.

True, but most of my clients are all clamoring for wireless because they have unrealistic expectations about it. At least with SP2 I can start feeling better about wireless, and start cleaning up some of the flaky installs I've had to deal with.

The security features alone make PS2 worth it. Spyware is at its peak, it seems. 80% of my job is cleaning out the crap some of these kids get into...all if which most Anti-Virus programs ignore, and Windows blindly allows to happen.

SP2 has crashed my machine at work 2 times in 2 days ... fresh install of XP Pro and SP2 Downloads - Installs and no more bootup ...its like microsoft magic or something ....the 2 machines at home running pro took just fine ....go figure.

ZOG try Panda Anti Virus for dealing with incoming spyware ....adware and general havok files

I use AVG for my residential clients, and a few of my larger commerical clients. I'll look into Panda.

I've grown tired of Symantec. Not only is their software bloated and prone to constant errors, it's expensive and ineffective against Spyware.

As far as losing 80% of my business, at least I can concentrate on other things now. I'm swamped. And the 90 hour weeks are starting to get to me.
