ACDC graphic Viewer

Postby -HaVoC- » Sat Aug 28, 2004 6:38 am

Hey all, I use a program called ACDC to view my current folder of fine Playboy specimens which is about to exceed 9000 images.

The older version of ACDC would take forever to refresh when new images were added and version 5 I have now is crashing even after updated. I need to look into version 6 or need suggestions as to another software that can handle over 10,000 images with speed and features.

Thoughts?

I like it. Can do batch files and reads multiple formats, including tga. Has builit in burner plugin. Get all the plugins for it. I was surprised at how powerful it is.

P.S. Best of all, it's free!

Well I'm trying it now. I have a few discrepencies.

1. It opens seperate application windows to view the directory structure and another for thumbnails and another for the image.

2. It doesn't seem to have a way to save the thumbnail information, so in other words, when I add a new picture and have to refresh it takes quite a bit to generate over 9000 thumbnails again.

The refresh is important because I am always trying to update and keep complete my collection.

Any thoughts?

Irfan view rox my sox. ANyways I never used the thumbnail view. If I wanted thumbnails I let XP do it in the folder.

It seems you should be able to save the thumbnails as one image rather than regenerate them each time, yet be able to add to it? There's quite a few options for thumbnails. I doubt I have even close to 9000 pics, but it seems like even 1000 would pose the same problem.

Now that you've brought it up, I'm interested in figuring this out.

P.S. For my digital camera (Canon), it 's software allows you to create Albums which contains multiple images. When I open the album, the images (thumbnails) appear immediately, then I just add to it. There doesn't seem to be any waiting. Maybe your digital camera software has something similar?

http://www.arcsoft.com is what I have. I bought the Panorama Maker and it's excellent for that. They have several different software packages. I'm at work so can't remember the Photo viewing software that came with the camera, but it sure seems like they would have the solution for you?

Hope that helps.

Edit: I have Photo Base and Photo Impression.
