I have a Linksys Wireless B Router that is splitting the signal from a Linksys etherfast modem. Downstairs it is plugged directly into the main computer and a signal is sent to the tower. I can go online on the main computer but the tower cannot find the router. What's wrong? I appreciate any help.
Edit: I screwed this up while forwarding ports for Bit Torrent. I did a hard reset and all ports are gone. I don't know how to get my computer upstairs to find the signal from the router. I think the hard reset might be causing this?

Thank you for your attempt. I will now help you troubleshoot.
1st, since you hard rebooted your router, make sure wireless is ENABLED. If not, you obviously have problems. Make sure there is no encryption, and then, make sure you have a unique SSID set.
Now, try to connect. If your still having problems, it may lie in your computer.
Go up to the computer in question. On a disk, bring a copy of the program NetStumbler (downloadable from that site.. just 1.26 megs.) Now, make sure, after installing the program, that your wifi card is picking up a wireless signal. If not, then check your drivers. If it is still not working, then try moving your computer closer, if possible, to the router, to see if the signal is very weak.
If it is STILL fubared, then you may have either a bad router, a bad wireless nic card, or both!
Hope that helps, and good luck. I may still need a translator for his responce, 007.

Pewp:
"Follow these steps:
1) Get in your vehicle of choice
2) Drive to your local High School
3) Enroll in an English Class
4) Take the class, and actually PASS for once.
5) Come back, and ask your question again.
Done.

Wait.. let me guess..
Is it because i'm a meanie head? Or, how about, because i'm a big old jerk?
Please, sir, don't. Trust me, you cannot argue with me, I am far more superior, and your childish rants will fall on deaf ears.

Pewp is a 6 time poster and already f'ing with the admins. Respect is earned, Pewp. Not demanded. While Skilo maybe typing from considerable frustration, Pewp takes no time to actually read about it and posts a flagurant bash, taking no time to actually consider his place here.
Skilo is a damn nice guy and doesn't deserve your crap, Pewp.
