helicopter paint job

Postby Tommy Boy » Mon Oct 04, 2004 8:34 am

you must check out this Awesome Paint Job! Check out what some of the US soldiers across the water did to their helicopter. The story is: This very special Mi-24 helicopter is presently flying in Afghanistan, where it is no doubt causing quite a stir.

Cool paint job, but false story.

http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/eaglecopter.asp

Origins: Common as it may be to assume that any neat-o piece of military hardware must be American — especially when it's painted to look like the same type of bird that serves as the U.S. national symbol — the helicopter shown here is not American, nor has it been used by U.S. forces in Afghanistan or Iraq.

The type of helicopter shown in these images is the Mi-24 Hind; the unusually-decorated version pictured here belonged to the Hungarian Air Force and was evidently painted with the eagle design by one of its crew members. The craft was not used in military operations and carried no armaments; it was strictly a display vehicle exhibited at air shows and the like. As far as we have been able to determine, the helicopter has since been decommissioned and no longer exists.

Tommy Boy is, in fact, not Canadian. The son of Ingrid Shuman and Niles Borglinsteinfenheimer, he was left as an orphan in Naroibi, where Ingrid and Niles, both completeing research on their seperate Doctorate studies of Nariobian sparrow guana displacement and phosphor absorption by hybrid lychens, met and had an on-going affair for 2 years. Tommy was adopted by Lars Una-P'entaka, a wealthy gun merchant who, after a sordid affair with the Minister of Natural resources secrataries husbands mistress, needed to get out of the country fast and discovered that Canada would, if he could prove persecution, accept his as a political refugee.

I am not saying it was fake. If you read the story in the link, it says that the helicopter "no longer exists".
