As far as I am concerned the server isn't the place to have a policy dispute. If an admin asks you not to do something, then why not just stop it? If you feel it was wrong of him to ask then come here and make your case, which is quite strong. He gave you fair warning and you publically rejected it and in doing so backed him into a corner.

All that is asked for is a sleight personal sacrifice for a time so that everyone can get along. It's what being in a community is all about,

As it goes I had never read that post by MMmmgood either, do you really believe that everyone has read every post here. Yooper did what he thought best,based on the knowledge he had at the time. He is as far as I am concerned a good admin who tries hard to make the server a better place for players of all levels of skill. He may be a crappy doctor though...

The only I see in the SS is that Yar says: "it is not illegal" and get banned. As you say, maybe Yooper should say him where says/why "it is not legal" and not bann him.

With all my respect, but it´s very sad read this. That there were admins than don´t know the rules (use of +salute, tk for revive, spam as spec, use !putteam...) or haven´t the responsibility to look for those rules or ask to senior admins; and then be hard in punishment with players, IMHO is sad.

PS: I´m not here (reading forum) as much time as you, and I need a lot of time to read posts and try to reply with my "engrish" (:P) but I know all those things.

I didn't say I didn't know the rule just that I hadn't read the post, I found the rule out in other discussions and largely by chance. I didn't however realise the policy that admins would have priviledges removed if they kicked/banned for +salute. I will be glad when a firm set of rules are established as it will make life easier for us admins as well as for players. At the momment too much is left to admins disgression thereby leading to having to justify every action. This need doesn't seem to be there in bf1942 where the rules are clear.

It's worth pointing out that it was not just Yooper who thought that the /killing was illegal/unreasonable. Clearly the player/players that complained also thought that it was as well. Making out that everyone knows the rule is not true. I will be happy when we have a clear set of rules that are not buried in a year old thread which we can use to make the right decisions, based on an exact knowledge of what is and isn't allowed no on what we feel to be wrong.

I never knew for example that herding sheep across the cargo net was banned, so I was at a complete loss for what to do when I saw Squirrel trying to force sheep to do his Goombas for him the other day.

ROFL, I don´t think they whinned about /kill if not about get spawnkilled all the time by panzers (for that exists foward bunker door). Those complains are to get spawnkilled (trencheskilled if you want) and not /kills.

That was a pretty eloquent spin, doc. Even though I think you're wasting time on deaf e@rs, you will reaffirm the blind faith that your followers already had in you. The /kill'ers will now avoid/loathe you and the admins will praise you. Hopefully, you won't be interfering in my late night sessions the way that these guys were treated (yes, i've used /kill tactically). I for one think that if you acted on the server as you did on the forums, you would be a fine admin, even an exceptional one (even surpassing the fine ones we have now), especially after that well thought out post (if only you would put that much patience into dealing w/ people on the server). I think the ss' and demo show you in a diff light and i'm sorry that your job can be stressful but why take it out on noobs you want to kick? I'm sorry you have to deal w/ people dying, that is very sad. :'( My heart goes out to everyone that has to die, if only we could be immortal, like duncan. That would p\0-0/n!

After that whole sheep-cloning debacle I had to find some use for them. Funny, they're not as good as you'd think at goombaing - too soft.
