Let me copy and paste what I wrote in the fpscentral forums. It is segmented because I was watching and typing at the same time! ;)

Well...honestly, I didn't see the video. But I am watching it now and if all of this true, I have to say that it is a disgrace that professors say that "anyone who blows up the pentagon gets my vote". I goto a private university, however, I went to a public high school (if that helps any).

You can't even post a flyer without it getting torn down? How retarded is that? Offensive my ass!

The president of the CalTech University is an ass! Calls public safety to cover his ass!

It's also sad that some of these extreme liberals write nazi symbols on flyers they disagree with.

I'm a left, but I promote free speech for conservatives as much as liberals.

Thanks for the informative video.

Unfortunately I work at a public university.

All the stuff in that video and much much more happens there. Yes the campus police are used to protect the administration. Yes what these universities are doing is wrong and violates free speech.

I try to ignore it as much as possible, because I need the job.

How many campus police would you say you had? I ask because all we had at my university were 3 security men whose entire job seemed to be issue parking tickets and I reckon we could have done with just the one to tell the truth :)

To do what? Sounds kind of unnecessary to me...

Which reminds me, slightly off-topic, the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago has a police force AND a SWAT team!

Logan airport does too but they couldn't find or stop a boy scout from getting his next merit badge.

I saw a very ugly example of this problem (overly aggressive Left wing) on campus when a friend of mine (a business major) had to write a paper dealing with economics and minories in America. My friend is a smart guy, but he's blunt, he doesn't mince words. He studied the facts and figures for weeks, decides that a huge percentage of poverty among minorities in America can be tied to living in large cities, the lack of manufacturing jobs, high price of housing in large cities, etc. His suggestion was a massive, voluntary migration out of urban centers and into the areas with a greater availability of manufacturing and service oriented jobs with a better ratio between pay and cost of living. Now, this doesn't do much for people that want to stay in the neighborhood where they grew up, but this is the straightforward way my friend thinks. His professor made him rewrite the paper and threatened him that his 'insensitivity' could be considered a hate crime. If he rewrote it, to match the same BS that everyone turned in, his transgression would be swept under the rug. Luckily, he caved in and did the rewrite. Now he works in City government, if he had balked and the professor had reported him, I doubt he would ever have a career in Public Management.
There were a few other small incidents, I pretty much learned the fine art of shutting my mouth during certain times and avoided any problems, but there were definately moments.

This is weird. Where I live a student may write whatever he wishes, being PC is probably going to lower his score.

I had to take a multicultural sensitivity class when I went to collage. It basically contained a bash the only 4 white males in class curriculum. Needless to say I only kept my mouth shut long enough to get a C. Which was fine because I made my points and still kept an overall GPA of 3.4. Sometimes you have to take a hit if you feel morally wronged!

P.S. I hate racists and I hate bullies; so can you see why I really hate racists bullies?
