Dell 42" plasma
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=w4200hd_rs1&s=dhs
Anybody have any info if dell's plasma's are any good or not? I cant decide if this is the way to go or just manning up and spending twice as much for a Sony at the local Best Buy.
Just info for you people:
I've considered projo-LCD and DLP's just a little too big as this is going into my bedroom. i like the size of the tv, the width is only 3-4 inches deep plus i can mount it.
I'm also going to buy a Progressive Scan DVD player with DVI output on it for the HD. I only watch movies, very little tv although the only exception to that rule is Sports, and i figure the tv i posted the link for has a built in HD tuner so all i'll need is the antenna. Let me know what you guys think or know about this TV.

Do you want good picture quality, or just a flat screen?
If it is picture quality, CRT is still the best.

i'm looking for size and quality.... but size overall, the tv is going in a 15 x 15 room... so size then quality.

Only problem with plasma we were told when we were looking was if it went on the fritz the cost to fix it. I would have loved to have had a plasma to hang it on the wall and get it out of the way but we went the safe route instead. The plasma was actually on sale and cheaper than the TV we ended up buying.

I agree with the post earlier about the service issues on plasma. If the gases happen to go on the plasma, you are looking at a ver expensive piece of garbage. With DLP, you just change a colour wheel and bulb and you can do it yourself...
really, take a close look at DLP...they are very impressive.

Then you should know what a rip off it is. You almost have to get physical with the store manager for them to actually replace the item.

Fortuneately for me, i worked at almost every metro store and know every manager... they love me. I still get the employee discount on most things when i shop there.
