Quick self-defense tip someone taught me once...

If you feel your mismatched and need a quick way out, take your fingers and poke the guy in the throat just below the adam's apple. It should buy you a few seconds to figure something else out (how many of u are poking your throats at home to see what happens? lol). Yeah, it's a cheap tactic, but the guy was clearly out of control. Please use this with caution and for self defense only, though (or in this case, someone else's defense).

If moderators feel this is unappropriate to post, please delete. Just hoping the readers here are the reasonable people, and it might save someone's life.

Let the healing begin:

http://cavalierlwt.home.comcast.net/mc.mpg

It's a 21MB mpg file, with Maurice Cheeks, a professional basketball coach, coming to the rescue of a 13 year old girl who forgot the words to the 'Star Spangled Banner' in front of a crowd of thousands.
It always makes me feel better about the human race just watching this simple act of kindness.

that is awesome...give me goosebumps watching that. I guess that it just goes to show that there are good people out there who can quickly turn a bad situation into something good if they just want to help someone else.

Awesome cavalierlwt...thanks! :)

Oh No, the Portland Trailblazers are firing the coach (from the video). Guess he had a bad season. Man, it's hard to stay positive about anything!

Even worse - is that nobody helped WHILE he was getting the ass beating, is that they stand around when it is all over and don't attempt to help the kid laying almost dead on the floor.

The fatass in the front in the grey tshirt looks more concerned about getting his pizza and smiling, while some kid is on the floor.

Man, everyone stating that the SIZE of the guy is a reason that people would be hesitant to help ... size doesn't mean shit. At least someone could have "kindly" got the guy to stop. Or, they could have shoulder-check the fucker through the glass door/window. How much balance do you think that "big guy" has?

If the Fucker can't stand he can't fight.

Jeffro, even you could take his knee out; it is very easy.

First off it was over before most knew their pizza slices were ready. Second of all it's a picture of humanity. People will shy and run from such vicious aggression. Most people are horrified at what happened in that line and have no idea what to do in a situation like that. The man was obviously out of control and most likely short on his vials of crack rock.

I can't say, in that situation at at that time, I would have attacked that man as it unfolded so quickly and violently.

It's survial instinct in action. Don't hate them for it, what they did is perfectly natural and understandable:(
