Four Canadian Mounties die in shootout
Yet another reason to stop the insane war on drugs. This is ridiculous.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/americas/03/03/canada.shooting.reut/index.html
These poor 4 officers died for no reason, other than the fact that thier government told them, "drugs are bad, mmmkay". They should have been away from this farm and fighting real criminals. What a shame.
All drugs should be legal because it is our basic right to do what we want with our own bodies, as long as we don't harm others. But especially marijuana. I'm not going to start the debate agein because there are already too many threads about this.
This is just more innocent casualties related to this insane prohibition.

What about the people that get robbed or killed so that someone can get drug money. I would call that affecting other people.

If drugs were legal.. people wouldn't have to rob others to get money for drug money. Drugs would be regulated and fairly priced.
When drugs are illegal and the only way to obtain them is through dealers and the black market, that drives up the price. In turn forcing people to think they have to steal to afford the expensive drugs.
I am not saying people are exused from this crime of stealing because they are illegal. It is still wrong to steal from others regardless of your motives. I am just saying that there would be more obtainable, cheaper, cleaner drugs available and people would not have to resort to robbing each other.

those men believed in keeping peace, and trying to help make Canada a safer place to live. they believed in that soo much that they became police officers. when they came to the desicion to become police officers they knew that in their line of work they would encounter drugs, so they obviously believed in keeping drugs such as marijuana illegal or they wouldnt have been on that farm that day. sadly they get killed. so if marijuana and other drugs are legalized then these police officers and hundreds probly thousands of them around the world that died in drug related cases died for nothing?
and if they do legalize drugs the governments just going to tax the hell out of it, although it would make places like BC a lot richer...

Murdered over marijuana addiction? never heard of that, go to any sporting event, college campus, Redneck motor car 500 compile all the idiotic brawls and what drug do you think fueled there fun?
Prohibition was another great law passed only for futhering political careers, i bet they even celebrated with a shot or 2.
where not talking about hard drugs here, I dont no what the laws are in Canada, but here in the US the way the law is written having a growop is the same as producing methamphetamine now isnt that silly? a smal bag of weed in NY city will get you a 250 fine but the same bag in Nevada will send you to prison for a couple yrs. isnt that silly?
Fear of prison is what pulled the trigger here... again what a waste

Salt Lake City, which is run under Mormon beliefs, recently sentenced a man to something like 30+ years for having pot.
That same court room, on the same day with the same judge, sentenced a man for a bloody murder to 15 years.
What the hell is up with that?
Who would you rather have on the streets sooner? The guy getting high or the guy that beat an old woman to death?

marijuana leads to hard drugs, its a gateway drug, first kids try marijuana and then they hear they can get even more stoned from other drugs, so they do them. im 17 and drugs are a bigger part of my life then id like them to be, although i have never personaly even tried any drugs, almost every one of my friends with the exception of two have tried marijuana and every single one of them has moved to a higher "harder" drug.
the point is that if they legalise marijuana only, it isnt going to stop people from getting killed for cocain. the only thing that it will change is that more kids will get stoned more often, and thats about it.

You don't see people getting murdered over alcohol. That was only during prohibition.
Nope, but you see all kinds of people getting killed because of alcohol.
