The Ultimate Margarita

Postby SHWoff » Fri Apr 01, 2005 10:38 pm

So... I was partaking at an upscale Mexican Food place, and had a great margarita. In search of a comparable one I can make at home, I came up with this:

***WARNING: For 21 and older only***

3 oz. Patron Reposado or Anejo*
1 oz. Grand Marnier **
1 oz. Freshly squeezed Lime Juice (or, in a pinch, Rose's)

Mix in a shaker with ice. Pour margarita and ice into a 16 oz. glass...

Best margarita I ever had...mmmmm muy bueno!

* Substitute Tres Generaciones, Cabo Wabo, Herradura, or similar (stay away from the cheap stuff - those can be used in blended margaritas)
** Substitute Cointreau (not Triple Sec)
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in the boat and drink beer all day...

I'm not a blended margarita fan, but for those who like blended:

***WARNING: For 21 and older only***

1 cup of ice
5 large strawberries
3 oz. Jose Cuervo or Sauza
3 oz. Jose Cuervo strawberry margarita mix
1 oz. triple sec
1 oz. Chambord

Delicioso!
