Banned for hacking? HOW?

I tried to connect to the 24x7 Beach server today only to get a message saying Banned: Multihack. What's that about?
I bought this software legit from CompUSA years ago. All I have ever installed are the official patches. Sometimes I've connected to different servers and maps and mods would download, but that's it. What's a multihack and how do I get rid of it?

Man At Arms, I have been playing on this server for well over a year now. Why would I resort to cheating now? You're welcome to my IP address, because I have nothing to hide. I'm 32 years old and love the challenge of the game. I've never used a cheat in my life on any game.
I played last night and got booted once. Some message came up about a two minute ban and cheating. I went so far as re-installing the last patch and reconnected. I played a couple of games after that with no problems at all. I get in from work today, sit down to play and got that banned message.
If need be, I will uninstall the game and reinstall it. I have no desire to cheat. The reason I picked this server to begin with was because PB was enabled and I wanted to play on a server where chearing WASN'T an option.
Instead of taking an attitude with me, why not offer me assistance on how to remove any malicious plugins, mods or whatever it is that got me banned? I'm just here to have a good time. I teach my kids to play fair because I play fair.

There is no reason that cvar (rtcw_aim) would be used other than for a cheat. I can guarantee you it didn't just appear there on it's own, so there's really no point in playing dumb.

Look kid, my life doesn't end if I don't get to play on your little server. When I'm on hiatus, I enjoy getting on here and playing. Other than that I spend most of my free time raising money for needy and terminally ill children. What do you do your free time?
I honestly don't know how it got on there. I certainly didn't install it. Not everyone who plays these games are masterful hackers. I spend my life either behind a camera or in front of a television monitor, not a computer. I genuinely don't cheat and I was genuinly looking for help to remove whatever this is from my system. If you can't do that, then all the complaints about you and the other admins seem justified. For Christ sake, this is just a game. This isn't real life and who really gives a rip when it's all said and done? Get over it and try helping out your fellow man from time to time instead of playing the roll of high and mighty game admin.

I'm not a kid nor am I playing high and mighty admin. I'm just trying to keep cheaters off of the server. You had been detected and kicked by Punkbuster for having a cvar that is used only by Mombot, a well-known wallhack/aimbot.

Check your wolfconfig_mp.cfg files and you'll find the cvar in there. I really don't care if you used it on this server or not.

If you cared so much about playing on a clean server, you should be thanking me for banning detected cheaters like you. Have a nice day.

Thanks for the info, Man At Arms. That's all I was looking for. I checked the file but didn’t find anything with cvar or rtcw_aim. But I appreciate the assist none the less. It's unfortunate we couldn't have gotten to this point right off.
The other thing I find odd is that after being banned from this server, I played other PB enabled servers with no problems at all. I'm not making any accusations here, so don't infer one please. I'm simply having an issue with this game and I'm trying to figure it out so I don't get banned from other servers.
If I have been ill tempered here, then I apologize. I felt my morality and character were being attacked and I get defensive when that happens.

What cvars other server admins decide to check for is entirely up to them. I try to keep "in the know" on what hacks are out there and how they are used because that info is needed to keep cheaters off this server.

You have more than one wolfconfig_mp.cfg file. You have one in your Main folder and one in each of the mod folders. You have that cvar in at least the one in your shrubmod folder.

Thanks for the continued help. I've opened every cfg file I can find for RTCW and I don't see anything that looks like what you're talking about. Could it have been wiped out when I re-installed the last patch? Before I try getting into any other servers, I want to make sure this thing is gone. If need be, I'll blow off the whole game and reinstall from scratch.

Go into your shrub folder and look at any cfgs in there.

if you see any rtcw_aim, rtcw_esp, rtcw_ anything delete them and save the cfg...perhaps you can learn from this.

I've checked every fold, not just the shrub folder and I don't see any files like that. Hopefully whatever it was is gone now. I suppose I can find out by connecting to a PB enabled server and risking being banned. If that happens, I'm wiping the game and reinstalling.
I do appreciate the legitimate help. I've read the forums and know you guys get all sorts of grief and cons, plus you don't really know me from Adam (even though I've been playing on this server for over a year). But my plea for help was genuine as was my ignorance on what was going on. I'm not expecting or asking to be un-banned. I just want to make sure it doesn't happen to me on any other servers I decide to frequent.
