I wonder if the Catholic church will ever change that oath of selibacy thing. Just seems like the worst idea to recruit priests that are okay with that. You're just asking for pedophiles. Also, why don't they get some money from those Michelangelo paintings and ornate cathedrals and help some starving people.

I agree with this, or at least someone from South America. A Canadian would be nice, but that will never happen I am afraid.

I think that the world is more than ready for a black Pope.

Too bad he wasn't Canadian!

You make it sound like he was a Nazi. He was forced into it, and actually ditched his unit.

Nope the church can't afford to support the wives of potentially married priests. If for no other reason that will stop it from happening

I just think it's humerous how many people act like they really give a shit about who the Pope is and what he does.

Ditto.

The new pope is still against gays, condom use, and priests marrying. It seems as if the Catholic Church is stuck in the 15th Century.

You can say that, but the last Pope had more to do with the downfall of communism in the Eastern block than did President Reagan. So the Pope does have some impact on most people's lives.

Why support them? They sure can get a job on their own.

Even if they have to support the wives, sure is a heck of a lot chepaer than paying millions to raped kids.
