Lag Problem!!

Postby Jono » Mon May 02, 2005 12:22 am

Okay...check out my avatar and tell me why it's doing this? It lags me hardcore and I can't stop it!!! Ahh, my connection seems alright too. BTW, I have Charter Cable. What do you think the problem is or could be?

It doesnt look like theres any lag at all, if thee was lag it would either be yellow or red at the bottom instead of green.

Yeah that's what I thought. I'll snap the lagometer on the mac and then you'll see some intense laggage :)

It isnt the server, its probaly because you need more bandwidth.

I'm at college, randomly I get yellow video and red connection bars but can manage. Our school has a horrible connection, gAIM goes out every 5 minutes. Your avatar is showing clear space, which is lost packets, which is usually bandwidth(as mentioned above). The game uses packets that don't check if they are caught by the end machine, I have that problem as well when I am at school but the game is playable.

No No, i'm not an idiot! :P I figured out it was the server. The server packets are good, but it's not receiving good for some reason. How do I know it's the server? It's the only one that does it. So i'm playing Ganja Palace now.

Try using a modem, specifically one plugged into a live connection. If all else fails ping the wolf server and see if somthings up somewhere between you and virginia.

Was anyone else getting a lot of "connection interrupted" messages last night, or was it just me? I put in a new video card last night and the game was absolutely flying!!! I've never had so many kills! It was great, but then all those connection messages kept coming up. I was able to play fine on other servers, just not on ECGN beach. Also, how do you turn on the lagometer and what is considered bad, average, good, and excellent fps.
