Lucas show Star War in France first?

Postby cavalierlwt » Wed May 18, 2005 11:55 am

WTF? Why would George Lucas give France a showing of Star Wars before America? I'm not bashing France, I'm just annoyed that he premiered the movie someplace other than the US. I feel kinda betrayed.

maybe george thinks the frogs are unintelligent enough to bring in a camcorder and tape the damn thing so it would get an early release.

Perhaps because this time there's an actual plot in the movie, so he's targeting a different audience.

500 bucks? Jeez.
I'll wait an hour in line and that's how far I'm willing to go.

Same as in 1977, now that I think about it.

Ep III was released early in like 8 cities in the US..i think it was may 12 (Miami was one) as a sort of party thing (money went to charities). It was $500 a ticket and it was with te stars of the movies like mark hamil and samuel l. jackson...

Chacal, I'm not irritated because it's France, I'd be irritated if he showed it to Holland, Zimbabwe, or the Czech Republic first. I just feel that he owes the American audience first viewing of it.
As for your implication that he is targeting a different audience because it has a plot, very nice of you. If you were joking, sorry if I took it wrong, but if you implying that Americans are dumb and not worthy of a movie with a plot, then I have a bone to pick with you.

LOL, did you ever see 'Triump the Insult Dog' when he hung with all the people waiting in line for the movie? He went up to a guy with a Darth Vader suit, pointed to the buttons on his chest and said "Which one these button calls your parents and gets them to come and pick you up"?
