Possible spoilers to those who have not seen it yet.. do not read on if you don't want info:

Well I just got back from the theatre. Revenge of the Sith was great. I would even say on par with Empire strikes back, maybe better. Special effects/CG was oustanding. Great action. I thought the dialogue was not as bad as people say, but maybe because I was expecting much worse. In any case, it was not as bad as in the first two.
I loved General Grievous. Very cool. I liked the fact that they had Chewie in it. They kept the scenes on the wookie world very short, which was appropriate, because it probably was not necessary but I appreciated it.
I don't want to give too much away but obviously at the end when they put the mask on Vadar and he took his first breath... unbelievable. Then him and the emperor looking at the construction of the death star... Awesome !
I only wish we could have seen more of Vadar interaction while in the suit.
I thought the tie in at the end to SW 4, A New Hope was really good, better than i thought it would be. You could see the transformation of the tie fighters, uniforms, etc to what they were in #4.
I even thought the musical score was awesome and dramatic... sounding more similar to the original.
All in all, I loved it... I give it a 4.8 out of 5.
IMHO

I liked General Grievous. Interesting character. Too bad he was introduced in this movie and not earlier. Dooku getting "axed" by his successor was necessary but too early in the movie.

Not sure why Yoda had to send himself into exile?

Also, (from ep 5) I always though obi-wan didn't know about twin sister until Yoda revealed it in ep 5 but not so in this movie.

Good movie though. Just my 2 cents.

Did you notice the younger Governor Tarkin at the end?

I think the rescue and repair of Darth Vader went too quickly and lacked drama. They event put the suit over his burned clothes! That should have been a process of several months, with him hovering between life and death.

Thats what happens when you try to squeeze so much into one movie. He should have created a episdoe 3 1/2!

The Deathstar is about the size of a small moon snd maybe a 20 yr timeframe to build would not be that far off, although i see your point, with the technology they have it should not take that long...
and Luke is about 19-20 in episode 4 as all his friends are of age to go off to military acadamies, etc..

To me, that's no big deal. Around 20 years to build a battlestation the size of a small moon? Why not? I'm just amazed they got as far as they did on the second one in such a short amount of time, comparitively speaking.

I wouldn't compare ROTS to the older movies, but it was definetly better than the first 2 prequels before it. The acting wasnt as good as in the originals, probably due to Christianson and Lucas' poor directing. The special effects were good but the thing that really got me was that since they had all this technology, they made every lightsaber battle over the top with flipping or acrobatics. I liked how they kept it simple in all the first movies. I mean the final battle is good but doesn't compare to the ones in The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi. Also, some of the lines were poorly done like the NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, or other little things like tieing it to the other movies, but in all it is a good movie which does it's part in the saga.

I agree about the lightsaber battles. Esp with Obi Won and Anakin. It was good that it was long, and climactic--as it should be--but it went a little over the top with the lava waterfall and riding the droids. If you look at the fights in Ep V and VI, they had pacing... moments of calm for character exposition and to build tension. Made them much better fights. In this Ep, the fight just grew bigger and more outrageous, with no pause or pacing.

The finish wasn't bad though, although it was strange how Obi Won could say no, don't try it... that he knew Anakin would be giving him an open shot. Just thought that was an interesting choice.

I thought it could have been a lot better. At the end of the movie all I could think of was Frankenstein. All the actors lately, mostly the young ones, seem horrible. They all suck and have no emotion.

HARRISON FORD saved the original 3 episodes. I think without him, you have a so-so episode 4, and maybe never a sequel. Flame away !!!!
