Help with Re-Install

I re-installed this game after awhile of not playing and now I am unable to get into the server.
I downloaded patch 1.4 and 1.41 and installed both of them. I try to log into the server and it just hangs when I get to the end of the status bar. Then I get a message saying "You have been disconnected for unknown reasons."
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Do you think some day they will completely shutdown the entire wolf multiplayer?

People still play quake 3 so I guess some weirdos will keep wolf alive, allbeit on life support in intensive care.
