PB Integrity errors

Postby SplatCat » Sat Jun 25, 2005 11:39 am

Hi,

I just hopped on the server to play a game and Man-of-War asked me whassup with my Punk Buster. I was very confused by the question cause I'm not aware of anything that's up with my PB. He informed me that I am getting a lot of Punkbuster integrity errors.

Since he's the boss (he said "Fix it") and since I do enjoy playing on the server I would appreciate any advice on the subject. Such as how does one actually know about it to begin with? Would this appear in client side logs? I don't normally run a client log so can't check but would be glad to do so if it would help (and if I can remember how to - lol). I will try to "force" a PB update and run all of those PB var thingies to see if I have the latest version. Otherwise, I'm clueless (not that I'm actually clueFULL at all)

Thanks for helping an Old guy out. Oh, and forget trying to avoid MrsB's panzer fire. Not going to happen. :)

Here's a followup. I found a log in the PB folder which is in the svlogs folder. Seems to be ok but I will post below. I also have a "sv_violog" in PB but it's rather bare. :(

Update your PB, if you did that already there is another 'tool' for you do DL, this allows your PB to auto-update while ingame, look for it on evenbalance.com, select only clientside DL's

Thanks guys (lol Parrot!).

I checked my PB version and it's v1.153:A1345 which seems to be the latest mentioned at evenbalance. I downloaded the file Savant mentioned ( pbsec.htm) and plopped it in the PB folder. Hopefully that will force an update any way.

Thanks again for the help. Hopefully that will take care of it.

Hi Namloot,

Yeah, it was good to be on a little last night. I always enjoy gaming at ECGN.

I guess I wasn't too clear in my orignal post. I have no idea if I have fixed the problem because I was not aware of a problem to begin with. I checked my PB logs (after I found where they were) and there was no indication of a problem. I did what Savant suggested in hopes of "fixing" the problem.

If any of you guys are server admin and can check the server side logs please feel free to report to me if I have/have not fixed the problem. Not sure what I can do about it from this point but I'm willing to try whatever you want.

Heh. Thanks slaught. You may have seen this rtcw pic before:

When I was in the NNC clan (the euro clan - not the clan that played a lot on ECGN) a friend posted this pic:

It's such a goofy pic I thought it would be pur-fect to merge the 2 in Photoshop and slap some text on it. Appreciate the compliments.
