Is it going to far? Au revoir to French food names

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

You mean MDMA? Hrmph . . . so you could then technically say that Belgium is also responsible for raves!

- Belgian chocolate

- 'French' fries
- the P-90 submachinegun (yeah, the one that goes through bodyarmor)
- K's choice
- XTC (were the biggest exporter to the US)
- Diamonds
- DSL technology
- Lernaut and Hauspie (ok not anymore now ;) )
- Space technology parts (without us, no ISS)
- ...

Does that ring a bell, BUKKAKE?

I have nothing against Belgium and am not trying to aggrevate you but you just named the most useless crap. DSL technology? The international Space Station? Diamonds? Did Belguim invent the diamond? I have no clue what XTC or K's choice is, and I dislike Belgium chocolate. Im sure for your countries sake they have done a lot better. What about that politicial last year who was assisinated, I like him.

:rotflmao: Always love the way the threads in this server can mutate ENTIRELY away from the topic.

I would just like to mention that us Martians have decided that there is NO intelligent life here on Earth, and we are now moving forward with our plans to destroy the Earth as it obstructs our view of a couple systems we like to view from home. ;)

Ok, let me straighten up things... I just did a rough profile of things that are connected to my country. You must of have heared of some of them.

And believe it or not: XTC is a synthetic drug that is exported mainly to the US from here. I'm not saying I'm proud of this, nor that its invented here, but its just some thing that popped my mind at the time.

Diamonds: If you have some knowledge of the Daimond community, you should know that Antwerp is one of the major Diamond trading places. Rough diamond is shipped in from Over the world and its cutted here, in Belgium (not ONLY here off course).

And yes we have our mistakes (Jean Claude Van Damme) :D

K's Choice is a popular rock band.

About that politician that was murdered last year: That happened in the Netherlands ;)

About the ISS: Belgium delivers key parts of the technology.

In an effort to get the thread back on track . . . yes, it's entirely too far. It's right up there on my list with renaming baseball and football teams so as not to be offensive to indigenous populations. The names were never meant to carry any real message . . . they were just names that became common place and any real associated meaning died off a long time ago.

If people really want to show approval or disapproval, get out and do something to further your cause . . . write a congressmen or join a march or some such thing. The whole "freedom x" initiative is a lazy way of trying to make a difference. It involves no real effort, but it gives people the illusion that they have in some way made a contribution to their cause.

Floppy, I dunno which waffles I'm talking about. I always just called them Belgian waffles. What's the difference?
